One of the nicest hotel in HCMC. I was staying on the second top floor overlooking the river. But sadly the view was partly blocked by the Sheraton hotel building, else it would be superb view.

I was at the Caravelle in 1967 and ate on the tenth floor. It was a class restaurant then. This summer I returned and found the Reflections Restaurant. It is still a class place. The staff is professional in every way. The food cannot be equaled by any means. It was multi-course, and every course was wonderful–the fresh-baked bread, the soups, the appetizers, the caesar salad, the fish, the meats(lamb and beef), the accompanied vegetables, and the grand desserts along with the terrific wine and drink menu were all superior by any standards. The atmosphere was glass enclosed with a view of downtown Saigon. The restaurant decor was in earth tones with live piano music and a photographic history of the Caravelle displayed on the walls. I was told that the wait staff trains for a year in order to get their job. I believe it–a real lesson in style. I believe that atmosphere and staff are just as important as the food. And in the case of the Reflections Restaurant, there is nothing left to desire. It is one of great experiences that you will have in Ho Chi Minh City. It is worth a visit if you are seeking a true continental experience.
